Who We Are
At Thickums, we're more than just a cookie company - we're a labor of love founded by Tenicka Terell. Born and raised in the vibrant Bahamas, Terell's upbringing was steeped in the rich culinary traditions of her Bahamian grandmother, Eloriosa, whose recipes still inspire us today.
Established in August 2023, our journey began as a heartfelt endeavor from our home kitchen in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
From there, we've grown into a thriving business dedicated to crafting small-batch, out-of-this-world, soft and delicious cookies. With nationwide shipping, local delivery, and pickup options, we're excited to bring the joy of Thickums cookies to your doorstep.

"Eloriosa" was my Biggest Cheerleader
My grandmother, Eloriosa was my biggest cheerleader. If I wanted to try something seemingly impossible, she would tell me to go for it, knock myself out and would cheer me on while I tackled whatever task I set my mind on. Growing up in the Bahamas, money was tight. While we had everything we needed, there was a time, when we couldn't always get what we wanted. As a six year old what I wanted most, was a thick, chocolate chip cookie from an establishment more widely known for it's donuts, but everyone in my neighborhood knew that their cookies were the better treat. My grammy decided that she was going to make me that cookie, so she got her ingredients and made me that cookie, her way.
I was blessed to learn from her, but my baby sister wasn't so lucky. So, I created Thickums, a love letter to my grandma to allow my sister to taste what she had only ever hear about. I knew the ingredients, had made them with her an innumerable amount of times along my childhood and so I set out to recreate those cookies. When I was done, I sent them out to folks who knew what they should taste like and kept tweaking the recipe until my mummy agreed that if you closed your eyes, you could hear my grandma humming in the kitchen while making these. The first flavor we ever matched to a memory is our chocolate chip, affectionately called Eloriosa's Way after the great lady who made it and help teach me how to do the same.
